25 April 2026 - Barcelona, Spain - Day 2
Three more races sailed today in light conditions, between 4 and 7 knots. A highly technical day, demanding in terms of wind reading and course positioning. In these conditions, the lighter crews had an absolute blast - and it showed on the water. Everyone in the F18 family knows it: the ideal combined crew weight of around 155 kg is not just a number - it’s the key to all-round performance.
Three more bullets for the Dutch duo Hans and Marius Van Dam - a father and son who have been sailing together for around twenty years. The father trims, the son helms: a formidable partnership. Barring any major surprise, they look set to take the overall win with three races still to go tomorrow. Conditions are forecast slightly stronger, around 8 to 10 knots.
CĂ©dric Bader and Yves Peters are showing impressive consistency and sit in second place overall. A special mention also for the Finnish teams, who made the long trip to Barcelona and delivered some strong results today. Further back, nothing is settled: between 2nd and 7th place, only 8 points separate the fleet. Everything is still to play for tomorrow!
