The F18 European Class Associations accepts no responsibility for matters outside its direct control.
2 RULES
2.1 The International Formula 18 Catamaran Class Rules will apply.
2.2 If there is a conflict between languages the English text will take precedence.
3 ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY
3.1 The series is open to the events chosen for the 2012 F18 European Tour with a minimum of 20 competitors.
3.2 Boats scored as starting a minimum of one race in any of the qualifying regattas will be automatically entered in the Formula 18 European Tour.
4 SAILING INSTRUCTIONS
The issuing of sailing instructions for each regatta will be the responsibility of the organisers of that regatta.
5 VENUES
As stated in the Notice of Race of Each regatta.
6 SCORING
6.1 The scoring system is designed to strike a balance between recognising performance in smaller and larger regattas and is as follows:
(a) The winner of a regatta with 20 competitors scores 100 points.
The winner of a regatta with 160 competitors scores 200 points.
As the size of the regatta increases the points scored by the winner will increase evenly:
WP = 100 + (N -20) / 1.4
Where:
WP = points for winner
N = number of competitors
(b) The last placed competitor starting at least one race will receive 20 points for all regatta sizes.
(c) For each regatta the points scored will be distributed evenly between first and last place as follows:
ETP = 20 + ((WP -20) x (N - P) / (N - 1))
Where:
ETP = Points scored for F18 European Tour
WP = points for winner
N = number of competitors
P = Regatta finishing position
6.2 The 3 best regatta scores for each helm and crew will be used to calculate their overall score in the Tour.
7 PRIZES
7.1 Prizes will be awarded for the top helms and crews, to include mixed, youth masters and club prizes.
7.2 The prize giving will be held at the end of Semaine Olimpica, Gran Canaria.
